We’re Josh and Chantel Giblette,
the husband-and-wife team behind Salt Hive.
Along with our five daughters, we started this as a family passion project, a way to use our creativity to spread goodness and kindness in the best way we know how: by making things.
Our roots run through Utah, where we each spent part of our childhoods, but what we’ve learned is that the gospel feels the same wherever you go. What connects us isn’t just a place, it’s the culture. It’s the warmth of chapels, the friendships that stretch across wards and missions, and the sea of blue on game day, whether at LaVell Edwards Stadium or any stadium BYU visits.
That’s the thread that ties us together.🖤💙
That’s what Salt Hive stands for. The “hive” is a nod to Deseret, a symbol of community, faith, and the goodness of people working together. The “salt” is both a call back to Utah’s roots and a reminder of Christ’s teaching to be the salt of the earth. Together, Salt Hive is about culture built on goodness, tradition, and strength, something we want to carry far beyond Utah’s borders.
As lifelong BYU fans, we’ve always felt like every game is a home game because Cougar Nation always shows up. But we saw a gap: most BYU gear is just another logo on a shirt. We wanted to create apparel that speaks to the culture, the inside jokes, the rituals, the gospel nods, the things that feel like us. That’s why we became an officially licensed BYU brand. Every design is approved, every royalty goes back to support BYU Athletics, and every tee reflects what it really means to rep the Y with heart.
That’s why we design in small, limited drops. Every piece has a story and a purpose, whether it’s a subtle gospel nod or a gameday shirt that belongs in the ROC. Once a drop sells out, we don’t gaurantee a restock—it moves into the arcHIVE. From there, the community can vote to “Make a Comeback” and help decide which designs return.
It keeps things special, intentional, and connected, just like the culture we’re celebrating—and it means if you see something you love, snag it before it’s gone.
We’re still writing this story, and we’re excited to see where it goes. At the heart of it all, Salt Hive is about more than shirts.
